Vatican City 25th anniversary of the collapse of the Berlin Wall 20001
20002

Description : The central motif depicts the Brandenburg Gate crowned by Victoria (goddess of victory) riding in a quadriga bringing peace to the city. In front are stones from "the wall" behind which is bared wire symbolising oppression and confinement together with an olive branch symbolising peace. Inscribed on the stones from the wall are the reason for commemoration "XXV ANNIVERSARIO DEL CROLLO DEL MURO DI BERLINO" (25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall). On the right of the motif is the date "1989" marking the fall of the Berlin wall and "2014" the year the coin was issued. At the top of the motif is "CITTÀ DEL VATICANO" (Vatican City), and at the bottom is the initial "R", the mint mark of the Italian mint Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato in Rome. The logos "G. TITOTTO" of the designer Gabriella Titotto and "C.M.INC." (INC. = Incisore / Engraver) of the engraver Claudia Momoni appear on the left.
